In Memory of Blue
February 25, 2010“His life was far from dull. He was killed in a car wreck in an ice storm and revived, run over by a car (by me), knew more Spanish than most of my friends, was stolen once (I got him back), had an active romantic life (60+ puppies in Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, Oregon, Texas, New Mexico, Cd. Juarez and probably a few places I don’t know about), swam in 23 states, ate lots and lots of people food, and slept out with me under the stars hundreds of times. I suppose one could say that he lived a Dog’s Life.”

February 18, 2010
The old wars between Audi and BMW are starting again. I would agree on this one but I am bias.

Forward Thinking Inventions – SMOKE the damn thing
February 11, 2010We Invent for….
1. Fun
2. Profit
3. Humanity
We try to solve with out of box ideas…..
Couple of problems that we have
1. Vaccination 10 to 50% spoil before delivery. They need to be kept cold. If they spoil kids die..
Solution: Less than 1/2watt of heat loss. Increadible insulation. You can’t reach in. Its like a coke machine and vends out vials.
2. Malaria – 259 million people sick each year every 43 seconds someone dies. 27 die during the time you read this. SoapOpera lifestyle….crazy complex disease. That’s what make it intersting.
Soluion: Shoot the damn pests with a non lethal laser and figure out that the insect we want to kill is the mosquito versus bees and smoke its wings off.

TED – Angiogenesis…..
February 11, 2010Serious listening and note taking versus blogging this year. However….Dr. William Li, a cancer researcher from the Angiogenesis Foundation moved my mind into new thoughts.
So…..Angiogenesis means the growth of blood vessels. Little angiogenesis creates wounds that don’t heal, heart attack, and many other diseases. Too much angiogenesis leads to other things as , massive growths, blindness, arthritis.. In fact I can relate to this from last spring but that is another story.
Rainey Institute
February 11, 2010Not to many people would now that 1oo years ago in Midtown, Cleveland the Rainey Institute was founded by a pioneering social worker, Anna Edwards, and a philanthropist, Eleanor B. Rainey.
At the time Mrs Rainey was deeply impressed by the work being accomplished, and decided to finance Miss Edwards’ program, and pay for the construction of a building to house its operations. This building near the intersection of East 55th Street and Superior Avenue in Cleveland is still the home of what was named the Rainey Institute in her honor.
Rainey’s history spans the earliest years of the car, electricity, the telephone, two world wars, a depression and the wondrous advances of medicine and technology. Yet through all these changes, families are still drawn together by theatre arts, educational opportunities, friendships, and the joy of achievement.
Rainey Institute continues to celebrate the talents and strong character of Cleveland’s young people who use their outstanding abilities to provide quality artistic experiences for appreciative audiences.
